Naval General Service Medal, Victoria clasp "14 March 1795" edge impressed to Wm Davis, edge and rim bruising that could be 'knocked out' by a competent jeweller and repair to one side of swivel mount, otherwise an honest medal reportedly consigned by a direct descendant of the recipient, aFine and very rare William Davis, LM on Britannia, confirmed on roll. A check through entire Douglas-Morris roll shows only six others with the same name - Battle of the Nile - 1; Basque Roads - 1 single clasp, 1 double clasp; Algiers - 1; Navarino - 1; and (surprisingly) only one for Syria. With the above medal, it is highly unlikely that it is an exchange clasp - badly damaged "yes", altered? "probably not". Only 97 clasps were issued for 14 March 1795, which was for Admiral Hotham's action with the French Fleet, and capture of two Sail of the Line, off Genoa

Waterloo Medal 1815 with replaced clip and ribbon bar on original ribbon, impressed to Joseph Fuller, 2nd Batt. 3rd Reg. Guards, edge knocks and wear to the design else a genuine medal, VG-Fine and difficult to obtain Note: the clip and ribbon bar were often replaced as the original clip and ring rusted the uniforms of their wearers

Crimea Medal 1854-56 bars "Balaclava" and "Sebastopol" impressed Pte T.Greave. Coldm.Gds, some hollowing of part of the rim and suspender pin possibly re-hammered because of loose fitting, bars may have been replaced at some stage, else a genuine medal with bright name cutting, gFine or better The 1st/2nd Foot Guards were at Alma, Inkerman and Sebastopol, and it is possible that the odd soldier formed part of the Battalion of Detachments. However it is more likely that the bars have been replaced. Well worthy of further research

Order of the Golden Kite 7th Class in silver with gilt kite on original ribbon, most likely a WWI award, with original lacquer case (slightly damaged), missing lapel badge. Somewhat rubbed but enough naming visible to detect the name "Yoshizawa". The lot comes with a group photo c.1938 of like recipients wearing the lapel badge - Yoshizawa is identified in the third row, fourth from the right. An extremely rare identified award The Order of the Kite is a strictly military order for gallantry awarded to Japanese only. General soldiers were eligible for classes 5-7, NCOs 4-6, junior officers 3-5, field grade officers 2-4, and generals 1-3. In 1939 only two people held the first grade, and 13 the second grade. The award carried an annual annuity
